Lab overview:

Poe Hall The Cognitive Ergonomics Laboratory was established at NCSU in 1992. The laboratory is located in Poe Hall and is directed by Dr. Michael S. Wogalter and Dr. Chris Mayhorn and consists of two laboratory facilities. The labs consist of several PCs and Macs that are used for designing and implementing studies. The lab is dedicated to research including cognitive, perception, and warnings research.
MISSION STATEMENT: to conduct research in the area of cognitive ergonomics while training students to become the research scientists and human factors practitioners of tomorrow.

Ergonomics and Human Factors:

The HFES NC State student chapter is actively involved with the Industrial Engineering department. Ergonomics/Human Factors is defined as the scientific discipline concerned with the understanding of interactions among human and other elements of a system, and the profession that applies theory, principles, data, and research methods to design in order to optimize human and system performance
